 Finding Mr. Michael Ostrander's Concierge Services was a most rewarding experience for me. He is soft spoken but with courteous confidence and assurance. He is equally efficient when walking my English Bulldog, planning a party, driving me for shopping, during errands, or presenting himself well with valet or butler duties. He has a most pleasant personality, always well groomed, is totally reliable and his personal integrity is undoubted. My only reflection is that I wish I had made his acquaintance earlier. During the many years and in the many cities we’ve needed someone to care for our cats, no one, NO ONE, has ever been as efficient, reliable, responsive, flexible, and considerate as Mike. Mike has a sensitivity to our pets’ needs as well as ours that is rare (possibly non-existent). “Service” is clearly a driving force behind his vision for his company, not just its title. Our cats have frequently appeared to be “disappointed” when we return at the end of a trip – we suspect they often have more fun with Mike than with us. That’s great! Our peace of mind when out of town is absolute. Beyond pet care, Mike willingly takes care of things like the mail and newspapers (saving us the trouble of putting “holds” on for brief trips), garbage removal and plant watering. He’s often anticipated needs like changing the clocks at daylight savings time. And, oh yes, the food dishes are clean when we return! It may seem minor, but after long, often delayed, flights, the last thing we want to do is wash a bowl in order to feed our cats. We had tried several pet sitters in the past but had never been completely satisfied. A neighbor gave us rave reviews about her pet sitter and suggested we give Mike a call. Upon meeting Mike we could see why our neighbor recommended him so strongly. He showed us that it was possible to have a sitter who treated our pet with as much care and love as we would. Sophie can be stand-offish with other people, but you can see she truly loves it when Mike comes to visit by the way she will rush to the door when she hears his voice. At first, we thought we would only need Mike's services when we went out of town on occassion; however, after experiencing the quality of his services we asked him to visit Sophie once a week for a nice long mid-week walk. Mike always thoughtfully sends us a text message about the weekly walk and gives us updates on how Sophie enjoyed it (number of bathroom stops, whether she enjoyed sniffing around, her energy level, etc.) On those occassions we do got out of town, we no longer worry whether Sophie is well taken care of. On those trips, Mike is always in communication giving us great peace of mind. When we arrive home there is often a personal note from Mike welcoming us home. Many times we find a treat waiting for us as well thanking us for our business. It is these thoughtful touches that really set Mike apart. What Mike provides is not just a sitting service but peace of mind that someone who loves Sophie as much as we do is caring for her while we are away. Mike is the best! Michael exudes a sense of calm confidence and has a good eye for details. He followed the care instructions for our pet perfectly and was very attentive to our cat’s needs. Michael also kept us updated via email and text while we were away, which was not necessary, but gave us an underlying sense of relief. He is organized, efficient and respectful. He went beyond the job and we highly recommend him as someone you could trust with your home and your pets. Mike was wonderful with him and for the 1st time I left home with no worries. Mike communicated daily about Kirby, even when I was lax in checking in. He walked our dog, fed him, and they even watched baseball games together. He took care of the house, watered my flowers, etc. Mike was very professional, thorough and responsible, and obviously LOVES animals. When we returned home there were flowers in a vase, a bottle of wine on the counter, and he even washed & changed the bedding on our bed. All above and beyond the call of duty, and VERY thoughtful. Kirby was happy to see us, but wasn't stressed out like he usually is when we leave town & someone just comes in to feed and walk him. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone! We require an overnight stay because our Rat Terrier is diabetic and requires an insulin shot every 12 hours and of course he's very high strung. Not only did Mike have the dogs fall in love with him, he handled the shot with ease; followed my insane written directions for feeding/walking the dogs; AND took care of the mail, cleaning and dishes. I think the house was cleaner when we got home than when we left. The final touch was a hand written note thanking US for letting him take care of things. Needless to say, we've used Mike several times since then - and I completely trust him with my "kids" lives. Everyone we talked to before we hired Mike raved about his professionalism and willingness to "do what it takes"...he's a true find.
